Rolling Stone Runs Out of Ideas; Accidentally Features Rock Legends

Waffles plays a Rush cover.

There’s a single enduring question Rolling Stone’s staff must face with each impending issue: What do you put on the cover of a magazine about music?

On their July 2015 cover, Rolling Stone did something unexpected and featured a legendary rock band on their cover. For the first time ever, Canadian power trio Rush has appeared on the magazine’s cover as they celebrate their 40th anniversary tour.

Perhaps Rolling Stone was being clever by holding this particular feature off until the year 2112. Maybe they’re trying to resonate with “geek culture” because Hot Topic told them that geek was the new black.

Hats off to whatever intern thought it would be funny to put a picture of Rush into the stack of Miley Cyrus tongue photos.
